Best guarantee of getting a good dachsie puppy:
a. select a good breeder
b. A good breeder will ask you lots of questions before deciding to let you purchase a pup.
c. A good breeder doesn't sell puppies before about eight weeks of age.
d. A good breeder offers some sort of health guarantee and will talk to you about herniated discs in Dachshunds and about PRA, and epilepsy. A good breeder has tested for PRA, and keeps records on all their dogs even the pup they sell to you.
e. A good breeder wants you to come back for advise for training tips and just to talk about how the puppy is doing.
f. A good breeder encourages you to neuter a pet pup.
g. A good breeder wants youto see the pup's dam and other relatives of the pup that may be in the kennel.
h. A good breeder gives you a health record of the puppy, the vaccinations are up to date and the breeder tells you what you have to do to complete the vaccination program.
i. You will get a sense from a good breeder that they are giving up one of their kids and they want to be sure you will be a good parent to the youngster. If you don't get that feeling - go somewhwere else.
